Shots from Chronicles of Nerm Film

Here are a few final renders from actual shots from my film I've been working on for a few years now, 'The Chronicles of Nerm.' For the past several years, I've been creating the sets (six) and characters (twelve) for the film, and after getting all of my audio recorded, I've just begun animating the ten minute film! These shots are from the actual animation, the entire film will be of this quality, or better (I hope!).

I feel incredibly lucky to have the amazing voice cast that signed onto my film, it's been an absolute dream come true:

Nerm: Alex Mentzel - You can see Alex in 'Feast of Love' where he plays Greg Kinnear's nephew as well as in many advertisements and plays.

Targ: Marc Graue - Marc owns a famous recording studio in LA. You can see him on VH1s 'Free Radio' and his voice in cartoons and games like World of Warcraft.

Ky: Zoe Bell - Famed stuntwoman-turned actor Zoe Bell played a lead in Quinten Tarantino's 'Death Proof' (Grindhouse) and ABCs Lost.

The Guard: Shelly Lipkin - Shelly has been on numerous TV shows and films over the years, including Laverne and Shirley, Lois and Clark and The Fugitive.

Keena: Mylisha Hood - This is Mylisha's first acting work, and she did a fantastic job!

Targ, from The Chronicles of Nerm

Here is, finally, the other main character from my upcoming film 'The Chronicles of Nerm'! Targ is a gruff, no-nonsense guy that will have a very short fuse compared to BG in the previous Nerm film. A four-armed alien with grasping hand-like feet and armed with a plethora of pistols, Targ is a guy not to be messed with! This still represents the quality of the final film.

I've spent the last three years of my life working on this film and after about twelve characters and six sets, everything has been created. I'm now moving into the process of getting all of the voices recorded, and I'm happy to say the cast is coming together incredibly, including a celebrity voice. The production process for this film has been really wild for me and I can't wait to finish the film and share it with everyone.

Below are a few shots from the film of other characters and sets.

Nerm, from The Chronicles of Nerm Film

Here is the title character of my film, 'The Chronicles of Nerm', newly completely updated and rehauled for the new film! While the overall feel of the character should be the same, this model is much more detailed and much better textured than the previous Nerm model (used in my old film, 'The Adventures of Nerm and BG'). This still represents the quality of the final film. I've been working on this film for almost three years now and with 12 characters and 6 sets, I'm moving into the animation phase now. It's been incredibly exciting and can't wait to show you the film whe it is complete!

Nerm is a walking disaster in the films. While he just wants a friend, awful things start to happen to all the people around him!

Here is another character from my upcoming film, 'The Chronicles of Nerm.' This is Keena, a female version of the robot line that Nerm was from. Nerm and Keena come from a line of robots used as children's playmates and watch over the children. But shortly after they started to sell, most went crazy. Bad things started to happen to the families, many were killed. In my previous animation, 'The Adventures of Nerm and BG', Nerm shows how his new 'friends' always meet an untimely demise, although Nerm is not hostile. Keena will, in my new film I'm currently working on, show what happens as this type of mechs ages, going even more insane. Keena will be featured in a small part of the end of the animation, and will completely out of her mind!
It will only be in a couple shots throughout the film, but it has been an important set because it is somewhat setting the style of the surrounding area (and other sets that will be created). The basic shape of the set was inspired by a great image by Dmitry Grigoriev here. As I create more of the city in the other sets, I will most likely add those buildings into the background of this set, extending the view of the town out further in the background.
I'll provide a couple other angles of the set as renders finish. Thanks for viewing.

Hello everyone. Unfortunately I suffered a pretty hard crash and lost a large amount of my dinosaur film 'Natural Selection.' After some hard debate, I have decided to move on to a new project, possibly returning to 'Natural Selection' in the future. For everyone who enjoys my robots and science fiction work, I am now starting a new Nerm film. For everyone who found Nerm incredibly irritating, I apologize. =D
The new film will have some old characters made new again, updated, improved. It will also introduce a wide variety of new robots, aliens, environments.
You may remember a variation of this little guy in the last film. Well me made the cut and is moving on to the new film. Heres the brand new, MUCH improved C.A.T. model. It is the chicken of my film, about one foot tall.
Thanks for all the support I've received from everyone! You can see my old film at www.cwanimation.com
